Ladies, is there any better way to start your summer than a good day at the beach? Likely not. And to make it a bit easier for you, Roxy and the Surfing Association of Nova Scotia are presenting a Roxy Surf Day this coming Saturday, in association with East Coast Surf School and Kannon Beach Surf Shop. Set for Lawrencetown Beach, the event includes a surf workshop, surf artisans, a tasty lunch and other good times in and beside the Atlantic. Registration for the event includes an annual SANS membership and shuttle transportation from Halifax, Dartmouth or Cole Harbour. Women of all ages and abilities are welcome, whether you're looking to stand up on a board for the first time or simply tune up your skills before the hurricane season.
"Our goals are to promote an active lifestyle and encourage the female presence in the sport of surfing," says organizer Nikki Richards. "And we'd like to provide a safe and positive learning environment. Roxy is a perfect fit for this event, as they're one of the only all-girl brands out there in the surfing world. Their motto is all about trying new things and having fun. We're giving the girls a chance to have fun and surround themselves with like-minded women who have the same passion for the sea."
