Reigning Champ is presenting a lineup of Wayne Levin's iconic black and white underwater photographic t-shirts. Levin's "Duck Dive" image was also selected by Reigning Champ to be laminated on to custom hand shaped surfboards by Kookbox Surfboards. This is a culmination of three brands that represent three different crafts coming together in partnership to present this special collaborative project.
For the Spring / Summer 2010 offering, Reigning Champ worked with Wayne Levin to produce a lineup of digitally printed t-shirts of his iconic black and white underwater photography. Mr. Levin allowed us to visit his cottage in Oahu to view and pick through a selection of his prints. We chose to digitally print the images on to our custom shirts to get the highest resolution and quality to best bring out Wayne's images. These printed shirts became the showcase pieces of our "vintage surf" inspired line for this season.
Having had the pleasure to also work on a co-branded series of sweatshirts with surfing legend Joel Tudor, Reigning Champ had a few surfboards custom crafted with Wayne Levin's iconic "Duck Dive" image glassed on by Joel's surfboard brand Kookbox. A true collaborative project of three representatives of handmade quality product in each of their respective crafts.

About Wayne Levin
Wayne Levin has spent a career photographing the eerie and mysterious underwater world. Working in black and white, he removes the surface illusions about the ocean and the assumptions about underwater photography.
Levin earned his B.F.A. from the San Francisco Art Institute and his M.F.A. from Pratt Institute in New York. His monograph, Through a Liquid Mirror (Editions Limited, 1998), received the Hawaii Book Publishers Association's award for Book of the Year. Levin received the Photographer's Fellowships from the Ohio Arts Council (1989); the National Endowment for the Arts (1984); and a Hawaii State Foundation on Culture and the Arts, Individual Artists Fellowship (2006).
His photographs are widely exhibited and are in major public collections including the Museum of Modern Art, New York; Museum of Photographic Art, San Diego; The Contemporary Museum, Honolulu; and the Hawaii State Foundation on Culture and the Arts.
