SITKA is pleased to announce the launch of their Spring 2010 clothing line on Thursday, March 11 at their Vancouver Flagship Store, located at 1864 West 4th Ave. A fashion show exhibiting the new clothing will begin at 9 pm, followed by live entertainment and a chance for guests to receive 30% off SITKA clothing for the evening. The Spruce Gallery, located in the back of the shop, will continue to display artwork by Kalin Thompson.
The theme of the collection is ‘Summer Camp’, and the party will be themed accordingly with camp décor, a grill for roasting marshmallows, a turf covered runway and musical guest Root System. Refreshments will be provided by Salt Spring Brewery and a variety of camp-themed snacks will be served.
The clothing line is the brainchild of the brother and sister design duo, Rene and Janelle Gauthier. The two have taken a blend of the softest bamboo and organic cotton fabrics and combined them with flattering silhouettes and graphics from several artists to create stylish yet functional pieces. The result is a diverse West Coast inspired line for men and women. The full collection is available at SITKA’s retail stores in Vancouver and Victoria, their online store and will be available at fine retailers across Canada soon, including the SITKA build-out located in Second Wave in North Vancouver.
